Story 1

This one took place in the early 2000's. I was working at Blockbuster at the time, and we had inventory after closing at midnight. We finally wrapped up around 5AM and I headed home.

I was 2 streets below my house and I was almost nearing the turn to go home. I noticed this man walking up ahead on the adjacent street, coming towards me. He had his head down, and wasn't paying much attention as to where he was going.

I thought to myself, this guy doesn't seem to be aware I'm coming down the road so I slowed down. He kept walking, with absolutely no awareness. I was thinking to myself, ok, I don't want to take a chance on hitting this poor guy, so I came to a complete stop just to observe him.

Sure enough he kept walking, and he was about to step off of the curb into the road. But that's when things took a turn.

When he stepped off of that curb and his foot touched the pavement his entire body collapsed and disappeared. Then this massive shadow rose up out of the road in front of me and flew across the road.

Needless to say, I didn't waste any time getting home that night. I didn't tell a soul what I had seen. Then about a month or so later, me and mom were talking and I told her what I had seen. When she worked second shift and she would get home at like 3 in the morning, she told me that one night about a year or so prior, she had seen the exact same thing.

She said she hadn't said anything about it because she thought she was just seeing things. But since I too had encountered it, we knew then it wasn't a hoax.

Story 2

It's not a ghost story but I would like to hear Your explanation. There is this hotel I used to visit during my breaks for my breakfast and lunch. The management compromised on quality of the food and I decided to seek services elsewhere.

I would pass this hotel and enter the one next to it. The cook who was so welcoming to me couldn't return my greetings when I passed by cause I was no longer their customer. After a few months I decided to check in and promote their business with the hope they have improved.

Was alone and I ordered a cup of tea and two cakes. I was served. The cook who happens to be the owner of the joint called the waiter and in hush tones gave him some instructions. The waiter went out for a little while and returned with another guy. What happens next is the subject of my post.

This new customer sat next to where I was sat with his eyes all over me. Ordered a cup of tea and six buns. He ate normally but whenever I went to take a bite of my cake he would quickly take a big bite from his bun and chew in a gluttonous manner like a hungry mongrel.

Each time he did this my energy would get drained and I couldn't 'feel' my tea or cake go down my tummy. Felt like he was feeding from my meal and whatever I had on my stomach. tried my best to finish my breakfast and leave the place but the more I sat there things got worse and worse.

He finished his first cup and ordered another one  and continued to "torture" me with this habit. I felt I was about to pass out from low energy and I couldn't take it no more. I wrapped what remained of my my half eaten cake, left the tea on my table.

Paid the cook and left the hotel. After getting some air and having something to eat at another hotel that's when I regained some energy to return to work... What is the explanation of all this? Has anyone ever experienced what I went through? Thanks

Story 3

I grew up in a home that my family lived in for over 40 years.  After both of my parents passed, my sister & I ended up with the house.  I was living locally, so I sold my home & moved into the house permanently with my son.

My father absolutely loved this house.  One day when I came home after having a fairly major surgery, my neighbor had picked me up & she was living next door.  The neighborhood is in an area that most ppl summer in, but in the fall, it’s pretty quiet.

I had stayed overnight at the hospital, so no anesthesia was in my system etc.  I had taken the master bedroom (formerly my parents bedroom) as mine.  I crawled into bed to take a nap, closed my eyes for about 5 minutes, I could feel someone holding my hand (regularly) and audibly hear a woman’s voice I didn’t recognize, but wasn’t afraid of either say “ do you think she knows we’re here?” LOL!

I didn’t even sit up , somehow I knew it was my grandma & my Dad was holding my hand.  He did it a lot when he was living, and continued to do so, even though he was gone.   So I replied, “yes, I do know you’re here, please let me sleep!” LOL! , Years later I sold the home, and the new owners occasionally smell a man’s aftershave waft thru the house.

I’m sure he stops in & checks on the house still. It was his happy place.  And yes, the upstairs was empty when my son went to college, and I’d hear conversations going on in the upstairs part of the house, right above my bedroom.  It never scared me, but made me smile.  I knew he was still making sure I was ok and taking care of the house the way he wanted it to be.

Story 4

A true story from North Wales.

I was working on a friends house on the North Wales coast in Penrhyndudraeth, Gwynedd, it was a very old house overlooking the river and estuary nearby.

We arrived around midnight to get started early next morning.

We entered the house and began to find our way around the building.

One room in particular was very cold and on entering our dog started to growl at the corner of the room by the window.. we closed the door, thought nothing more of it, and went to find our bedroom for the night..

On waking next morning we set about our work and awaited deliveries of materials.

I was downstairs and my wife was upstairs.

I glanced up at the window to see a figure looking out and waved. I got No response , I waived again and saw my wife coming out of the front door..

We carried on working and the day went fast.

That evening we were disturbed by the dog barking at the door of the room where he’d been in the night before and again growling at the window.

That night I woke in the middle of the night to see a figure at the end of the bed, a young woman, in period dress looking at us.

I couldn’t see a full face but I could see her outline as she left the room. I put it down to a vivid dream.

Again in the morning I could hear the dog growling at the window in the room.

I went outside to get some materials and saw a figure at the window looking out and returned upstairs to work.

I was in the room where the dog had growled and shut the door to install underlay, the door was closed and I started to install the underlay. It was an old wooden floor.

I felt a cold wind behind me and what I took for someone walking behind me looked around to see the outline of a woman walking through the door.

The door was closed.. I went downstairs to check with my wife if anyone had come to the house and she confirmed no one had been seen.

I looked up the window to see the young woman I had seen in what I thought must have been a dream.. old fashion dress and a hat looking down at me through the window.

We completed the work over the next two days and on leaving saw the neighbour to leave the key with.

I asked who had lived in the house previously.. it had been empty for years until our friend bought it to restore.

“The sea Captain lived there many years ago and had a daughter he lived with who looked after the house while he was away at sea”

She had been waiting for him to return but he had died on a journey and didn’t return ,

Why do you ask ?

Oh it was just I thought I saw a woman here in the room upstairs looking out of the window

Yes, the neighbour replied it was very sad, the daughter had waited many months for her father the Captain to return and he had died on a trip away.

She would stand in the window to watch the ships come in hoping her father would return home.

It was Alice his daughter you would have seen in the window.

Does she live near here ?

No, Alice died many, many years since,  she died young, they say of a broken heart.

I never told the story to our friend for fear of spooking them in their new house.

But I can tell you it was an experience I will never forget, not a frightening experience just an innate sadness of someone who was lost and was waiting for someone to return.
